I've been horrible at writing. Too many things to do and not much time to sit down and type. I think the main thing is that I spend too much time on Facebook, which is sooooo easy to do. What's been happening? Quite a lot actually.
Jonas took his 11+ entrance exams at the Royal Boys Lancaster School and manage to get a spot. So proud of him! :) Niklas has managed to make himself comfortable in his class. He enjoys it so much, he doesn't want to have holidays. And when one explains to him what holidays are, he goes 'But I want to eat my school dinner!!!'. Yes, I must probably starve him at home. :P
Sebastian on the other hand has been negotiating with the University in Trier, and has managed to get a pretty good deal from them. So, yes! He's signed the contract and we're on our way to Trier next summer. Which in a way is a shame because Jonas will not be able to make use of his spot at the Boys Grammar which happens to be the top 2% school in England.
November saw us organizing a surprise week-long trip to Paris in December for my mother-in-law, who turned 70 on December 18th. What she didn't know was that we were also planning to make a show, and meet up with my in-laws at the rented flat. Everything was running smoothly until closer to Christmas, I fell ill. I was in bed two whole days (24th & 25th) and missed Christmas celebrations completely. We nearly didn't make it to Manchester on the 26th for the night, because I was in such a bad way. We had a horrendous trip down to London with British Rail because there were railworks happening everywhere BUT we managed to catch our train from London St. Pancreas to Paris, Gare du Nord.
Ulrike (my mil) was really surprised to see us but I don't think that happiness lasted very long because she, my father-in-law and my sister-in-law caught my nasty bug. Of the whole week we were in Paris, we spent at least 3 days indoors because of the flu. Which made me feel soooo guilty, because it was me who brought it along. :(
Anyway, this silly flu has taken its toll on my little self and I've yet to recuperate from it. I've lost my voice on the 26th of Dec, and am still waiting for it to come back. It's really frustrating because I can't really function properly.
Apart from that, I've been given a wonderful Christmas present from my dear hubby. A trip back to Malaysia for Chinese New Year. I'll be flying home on the 22nd Jan to 2nd Feb. A trip which I will be making on my own while Ulrike comes over to help Sebastian with the boys. I'm looking forward to it, especially the food part. Maybe this flu is a blessing after all since I've lost a little weight. Just hope I don't come back a little hippo! :)
